His Story

Nearly Three Decades
in the Valley

Ralph B. DeVaul, Jr. is a spiritual architect, retired Air Force chaplain, and founder of The Mind Equipped — a ministry dedicated to helping veterans, caregivers, and survivors reclaim clarity, agency, meaning, and resilience.

For nearly three decades, Ralph served across the Air Force Reserve Command, where he became a trusted voice in resilience and reintegration. As a consultant and chaplain recruiter for the Yellow Ribbon Program, he facilitated resilience training, marriage enrichment, and single-service-member support, coordinating spiritual care for thousands of Airmen and families.

His work has been featured in AFRC publications for its inclusive, trauma-informed approach to spiritual fitness — recognized for honoring the whole person: mind, body, and spirit.

Ralph completed clinical training at the VA's National Center for PTSD and holds advanced degrees in pastoral counseling, spiritual formation, and theology. His ministry blends lived experience, psychological insight, and biblical wisdom — shaped by years of walking with warriors through the valley and witnessing the quiet miracles of healing and growth.

He lives in Pearland, Texas, where he writes, teaches, and continues to serve those who carry visible and invisible wounds.
